Gallery 4 - Fenwick Moor
When I am not running in the Dams to Darnley Country Park, my preferred option is to run the country and farm roads across Fenwick moor. The land is agricultural and fertile but being open and high it feels pretty timeless. At this time of year high winds, low temperatures and rapidly changing cloud formations can make it seem isolated, even spooky sometimes. But I love it. There is something epic about a long run up the hills, past the angling club, the wind farm the tracks and burns and tarns. Many of the roads are in poor order and the bridges ancient which all helps. There also some great farm names, Windy Yett is my favourite, to signpost the miles. Pure bliss whatever the weather.
